Join us as West Hartford turns up and out to honor and remembers soldiers who died defending America. WHCi will be live along the parade route in front of ...the West Hartford Veterans Memorial as the parade steps up Farmington Avenue and ends at Town Hall.

A live broadcast of the Memorial Day Parade in West Hartford, hosted by Chris Printis. The parade honors military veterans, with a military flyover by the Connecticut Air National Guard's 103rd Airlift Wing - 00:13

Throughout the event, various local groups and organizations participate, including the West Hartford Police and Fire Departments, local schools' marching bands, and community service organizations. Chris highlights the community spirit, with many residents wearing patriotic attire and each contingent marching in honor of an individual soldier.

The parade features numerous marchers and floats, including veterans, youth sports teams, and Girl Scout troops, emphasizing the importance of community support and gratitude for those who served. We express our heartfelt thanks to veterans for their service and invite people to watch the Ceremony that follows at the Veterans Memorial.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The parade is presented by the Town of West Hartford and American Legion Post 96. Lt. Col. Seth M. Allen, professor of Military Science at the University of Connecticut, who is shaping the next generation of Army officers, will be the grand marshal for the Memorial Day parade. Among the highlights of this annual events are military flyover, veterans from all military branches, the American Legion Post 96, town officials, police and fire color guards, high school and middle school marching bands, boy and girl scouts, sports teams, and civic organizations.

WHERE TO PARK:
On Memorial Day, free parking is available at all municipal parking lots and garages.
The easiest lots to access are located on Brace Road and Town Hall. The lots on LaSalle
Road/Arapahoe and Farmington Avenue may be difficult to access before the parade.
In preparation for the Memorial Day parade, starting at Midnight on Monday, May 26, the Town
will implement a parking ban along the parade route. On-street parking will be prohibited on the
west side of Pleasant St. from Whitman Ave. to Farmington Ave.; on Farmington Ave., both
sides, from Walden St. to Raymond Rd.; and on North Main St. and South Main St., both sides,
from Brace Rd. to Burr St.

The Town will lift the parking ban after the parade. Parking fees will resume on Tuesday,
