Recommendation: THAT the Board of Education appoint a new Superintendent of
Schools for a term to commence May 1, 2023 and further than the Chairperson is authorized
to execute an employment agreement with the new Superintendent on behalf of the Board of
Education
B. McKinney-Vento Grant Assurances
Recommendation: THAT the Board of Education of West Hartford Public Schools makes
the following assurances in relation to its application for a McKinney-Vento Homeless
Assistance Grant:
A. The grant applicant assures that its combined fiscal effort per student, or the aggregate
expenditures of that agency and the State with respect to the provision of free public
education by such agency for the fiscal year preceding the fiscal year for which the
determination is made, was not less than 90 percent of such combined fiscal effort or
aggregate expenditures for the second fiscal year preceding the fiscal year for which the
determination is made.
B. The applicant assures that it is in compliance with all related statutes authorized under
Title VII-B of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act (42 U.S.C. 11431 et seq.)
(McKinney-Vento Act) and certifies it will use any requested funds to comply with
paragraphs (3) through (7) of section 722(g).
C. The applicant assures that the cash match identified in this grant proposal has not been
used as funding in any other project(s).
