EAP (Employee Assistance Group) wrote about a recent report on preteen suicides on their blog post, Preteen Suicides on the Rise. Suicide is the second-leading cause of death of young people ages 10 to 24. The suicide rate among preteens – children aged 8 to 12 – has increased about 8% each year from 2008 to 2022, for a cumulative total of 2,241 preteen deaths. The post includes warning signs and help resources for parents and caretakers to deal with preteen and teen suicides.
